Saratoga-North Country Continuum of Care

The Saratoga County Alliance to End Homelessness is an affiliate of the Saratoga-North Country Continuum of Care.

The Saratoga-North Country Continuum of Care

The Saratoga-North Country CoC is composed of representatives of local organizations, including nonprofit providers, victim service providers, public housing agencies, school districts, social service providers. mental health agencies, and advocates. The Continuum of Care Membership is dedicated to preventing and eliminating homelessness while ensuring that an effective system of care and services is in place to respond to the needs of at-risk and homeless individuals and families.

The Purpose of a Continuum is to:

  • Promote community wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness.

  • Provide funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, States, and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals (including unaccompanied youth) and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families, and communities by homelessness.

  • Promote access to and effective utilization of mainstream programs for homeless individuals and families.

  • Optimize self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

The Saratoga-North County Continuum of Care is governed by a Board of Directors and its member organizations and individuals. The Continuum provides a forum to openly discuss and address the issues of homelessness in Saratoga, Warren, Washington and Hamilton Counties. Additionally the Continuum also ensures a competitive application for funding is submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on an annual basis.

Meetings

The Saratoga-North Country Continuum of Care generally meets, two times per year, in May and October. All meetings are virtual via Zoom at this time. Continuum Membership includes the right to vote on matters impacting the Continuum, though non-members are both welcome and encouraged to participate in discussions.
